Summer Time Look

I do not know about you but in the summer time I always wear a lot less makeup then usual. I have some products that I just cannot live with out even though I always tone down my look for the summer. The products that I always wear are a light foundation, mineral powder, bronzer, mascara, and lip-gloss. All the other products I typically use are just too much in the summer time!

I always like to change up my look and the summer time is always a good time to do it. I always go a lot blonder in the summer and this summer I even got bangs! I remember when I was a little girl I had bangs but it has been many years since I have tried to pull them off! I was pleasantly surprised with how good bangs can look!

Next time you want to change up your look consider lighting your hair and also using less makeup. You will be surprised how little changes can go along way! Also using less makeup has huge cost savings! You will find yourself running out of your favorite lip gloss a lot less often if you take a break from it for a while! Same concept with eyeliner and blush.

Summer Time Needs

When the sun starts coming out and people start spending more and more time outside there are special products that are important to stock up on especially for the summer time.

One of the first things that comes to mind for me is sun block. It is so important that you protect your skin from all the extra sun exposure. Another product that comes to mind is lotion. The need for lotion comes with wearing shorts and skirts and having dry legs. You always want to make sure that your skin is moisturized especially if you are going to be bearing a lot of it! One good rule of thumb is to always have a small bottle of lotion with you. If you can find a good moisturizing lotion with sunscreen in it even better!

Another thing to keep in mind are your feet! Everyone starts wearing open toe shoes when it starts getting hot outside and that means the feet are exposed! Make sure your feet are fully prepared! Painted toes always looks nice and clipped, painted and manicured toes look the best! Make sure that your feet are properly moisturized and do not appear dry or cracked. One way to guarantee your feet are looking good is treat your self to a pre summer pedicure, don’t worry you deserve it!

Stay tuned for more summer tips as it continues to heat up…

Tanning vs. Mystic Tanning

So it is heading full speed into summer and you want to look your best…Two options that always make me feel good is tanning and if I am feeling really guilty mystic tanning.

The difference between tanning and mystic tanning is like night and day for your skin. Everyone knows there are many dangers in tanning and how bad it is for your skin. I try not to go tanning too much. I like to go maybe once or twice a week to have a nice base tan and to feel good about myself. Even though some times I can go weeks and even months at a time with out going at all!

Well right now is the time when I start feeling really pale! I have not been tanning in a couple months and on top of that I am getting ready to start trying on wedding dresses. So it is time to start going again.

The other option, which is much better for your skin, is Mystic tanning. I have mixed feelings on Mystic tanning. I like it because it is an instant tan for your body and it does not harm your skin. What I do not like about it is when it starts to come off and that it can sometimes rub on your clothes. Also Mystic tanning can be pretty expensive, where as you can get a good tan for free in your back yard if you are trying to save on costs.

Next time you are feeling like tanning you should give Mystic tanning a try and see what you think…

Bronzers…Better Then the Sun!

The sun is starting to come out and I do not know about you but all I want to do is play in the sun and get a tan! I know what you are thinking that it is not good for your skin or safe to out in the sun for a long amount of time. But when the sun comes out that is all I want to do!

Well the best alternative I know to being out in the sun is a good bronzer that makes you look like you have been out in the sun. A good bronzer can give you that sun kissed look with out doing any damage to your skin. I love my bronzer and I could not live with out it! I use it as a blush and then I use it all over my face to add a little extra color. Bronzers come in all different colors so you just have to find the right match for you!

If you do not have a bronzer I recommend you go out and find your self a good one. Not only will your skin look amazing but it will also look great for years to come!

Cellulite Products

When you start to get older and it is harder to keep in shape, you start to notice it…cellulite. Cellulite can happen to all different types of people whether you are a size 2 to a size 20. What can you do to prevent cellulite or what products work to prevent it or help reduce the current cellulite you have? There are a variety of products that help but which ones work?

I have only tried one product, I use Mary Kay Cellushape. It comes with a day and night solution that you are supposed to apply everyday. The minute I apply it on my skin I notice a difference. If you are in the market for a good cellulite cream I recommend you try it out. You can use it whether you are trying to prevent cellulite or if you want to helpĀ  your current situation.

The most important thing to keep in mind is if you eat a healthy diet and exercise daily you have a lot less chance of having a lot of cellulite. Another thing to consider is genetics. If your mom has cellulite more then likely you will inherit it.

Good luck finding a product you are happy with and remember if you take preventative measures now you will not regret it!

Sun Protection

I went camping this weekend and when I came home I had a red face! I forgot to wear sun block on my face and we were in the sun a lot! When ever you are going to be out in the sun it is always important to wear sun block. I usually wear a SPF 15-30 but any protection is better then no protection. The moisturizer that I use has a SPF 15 but yesterday I did not even put on my moisturizer because we were camping. Even when you are camping it is important to always remember your skin.

The other thing I forgot to put on was chap stick. I have very sensitive lips and so the slightest amount of sun exposure can dry them out pretty fast! For me the most important items to remember is sun screen and chap stick. Now since I forgot to wear sun block I have a little bit of a sunburn. The good news is that once the red goes away I will have a little bit more color to my face. You always have to look on the bright side when it comes to a sunburn.

Next time you are out in the sun do not forget to put on sun screen and chap stick!

What is Mineral Powder?

Remember when cosmetics were simple and there was only one type and a few colors and brands to choose from? Well those days are long gone and now not only are there thousands of brand names, but also thousands of colors, and even thousands of types of make up. For example mineral powder; what is mineral powder? I wanted to find out what makes mineral powder so good for you?

It turns out that there are many benefits to using mineral powders! First of all they contain 100% minerals from the earth which makes them very healthy for your skin. Also they feel light weight and totally natural. Another benefit is they contain no preservatives, chemical dyes, etc. which actually helps improve the condition of your skin over time. Also mineral powder can work as dual coverage so as a foundation and powder in one.

So next time you are wondering if you should buy mineral powder take my advice and invest in it. It is good for your skin and you will not regret taking care of your skin! I use Mary Kay pressed and loose mineral powder and I love it! I even use a special brush designed by Mary Kay especially for loose mineral powder.

Bronzers and Highlighters

How do bronzers and highlighters work? They each serve there own purpose. Bronzers are used to give your skin a sun touched look. You apply bronzer anywhere you want to have the appearance you were kissed by the sun. This includes your forehead, the tip of your nose, and your cheeks. I use my bronzer as a blush because it gives me a sun kissed look along with defining my cheek bones.

Highlighters are used to downplay shadows and darker areas of the face. Areas of your face that appear darker include under your eyes, under your chin and even at the top of your eye lids. Highlighters come in a liquid form and powder form. I prefer the liquid form for under my eyes because I think it provides better coverage. You will have to try them for yourself to see what works best for you.

Highlighters and bronzers are great because you can pretty much apply them anywhere on your face. You can use shiny highlighters and bronzers or matte, which ever you prefer. Usually for older women they prefer matte powders because it helps hide the signs of aging. Shiny powders are usually worn by younger girls going for an extra glow look.

Next time you are experimenting with bronzers and highlighters be sure to keep these application tips in mind.

Age Fighting Skin Care

I think that by now everyone is familiar with how many thousands of brands claim to be the best age fighting skin care. At my age I am started to think more and more about my skin. They always say take care of it while you are young and you will help prevent the signs of aging.

About a year ago I was not using anything on my skin besides soap and water. I attended a Mary Kay skin care class and I learned a lot about skin care. I ended up purchasing the whole skin care line. I love Mary Kay products. I use the 3-in-1 cleanser and the moisturizer everyday and it makes my skin feel great! Mary Kay has been the number one selling skin care brand for over 43 years! It has an amazing reputation and after using the products myself I can see why!

I am excited to know that I am helping my face every time I wash it and I am now taking care of my skin! If you are currently not using anything on your face but soap and water, I strongly suggest you look into a good age fighting skin care. There are many of them out there and you just have to try different types to see what works the best for you!
