Age Fighting Skin Care

I think that by now everyone is familiar with how many thousands of brands claim to be the best age fighting skin care. At my age I am started to think more and more about my skin. They always say take care of it while you are young and you will help prevent the signs of aging.

About a year ago I was not using anything on my skin besides soap and water. I attended a Mary Kay skin care class and I learned a lot about skin care. I ended up purchasing the whole skin care line. I love Mary Kay products. I use the 3-in-1 cleanser and the moisturizer everyday and it makes my skin feel great! Mary Kay has been the number one selling skin care brand for over 43 years! It has an amazing reputation and after using the products myself I can see why!

I am excited to know that I am helping my face every time I wash it and I am now taking care of my skin! If you are currently not using anything on your face but soap and water, I strongly suggest you look into a good age fighting skin care. There are many of them out there and you just have to try different types to see what works the best for you!

What is Good Body Care?

When you think of body care, what are the first thoughts that come to mind? Do you think of cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing your skin? Well these are three steps to great skin!

First of all when you cleanse your skin you are washing away any impurities that you may have exposed your body to during the day. Cleansing is important to keep your pores clean and also to wash all the dirt off of your skin! You should cleanse your skin at least once a day.

Exfoliating is a great way to get rid of all the dead surface skin that tends to build up on the surface if it is not washed properly. Exfoliating is a great thing to do only a couple times a week, you do not need to do it anymore then that. Also it is a great thing to do before you get a spray on tan. When you exfoliate before you get sprayed your sunless tan will last a few days longer!

The last step is moisturizing. Moisturizing your skin is very important; it helps keep your skin hydrated and looking younger longer. You should moisturize at least once a day if not more depending on how the condition of your skin.

I hope this helps you develop a body care routine! Good luck!

Men’s Skin

Did you know that men’s skin care is just as important as women’s skin care? For how commercialized women’s skin care is we seem to forget all about men’s skin. Skin is the largest organ on our body whether you are male or female.

My fiancé has great skin and he looks really young for his age. But I still worry about him taking good care of his skin. He is Latino so he is naturally blessed with a great complexion! What should a man do to keep his skin looking great? Here are a few tips I found:

First of all you need to know your skin type. There is normal, oily, dry, and combination. Normal skin is where your skin looks great all the time, your pores are small and breakouts are very uncommon. Oily skin is when breakouts are pretty regular and you have a shiny glow to your skin pretty often! Dry skin is when you have to use some sort of moisturizer just to feel normal, and not flaky. Combination can be a combination of oily areas and dry areas.

Once you know your skin type you can put together the right products for your face and a good daily routine. Your routine should include a cleanser, shave cream or shave gel, toner, after shave and moisturizer. Now I know it sounds like a lot of products but trust me in years to come your skin will thank you for it.

If you get started right away you will be on the right track for skin care!

Teeth Whitening

When you look at someone what is the first thing you notice? I usually notice there smile! With so many teeth whitening methods how do you know which one will get you the results you are after?

I first started using toothpaste that is supposed to help with teeth whitening. I did not see much of a change in my smile so I started looking into other methods. I tried bleaching trays and I have seen more results with bleaching trays then with just toothpaste made for whitening!

There are many other ways to whiten your teeth; one way is having it done cosmetically. That is when you pay a professional to whiten your teeth. I have personally not had it done professionally. I have seen people who have had it done and they look great but this can be pretty costly.

Another way is with whitening strips. You can buy these at most drug stores and they are less costly then having it done cosmetically.

I think that teeth whitening can have a huge impact on someone’s appearance. Just a few shades brighter make a huge difference. If you have not invested in any teeth whitening products I strongly recommend looking into a couple different methods. You will be amazed by the difference it will make in your look.

Lip Plumper

Have you ever wanted to make your lips look fuller with out having collagen injections? I myself have pretty good size lips so I have never used anything to plump my lips, but I was curious what type of products are out there to meet this need.

Laura Mercier has a product called lip plumper. It states that it uses the latest in technology to hydrate and plump lips. It says that it takes 20 minutes to plump lips and they can last for up to 2 hours! The lip plumper uses unique ingredients to stimulate increased collagen production. It even offers tint in color to give your lips a natural glow.

Maybelline has a lip plumper that claims it plumps your lips up to 30%! They call it Volume XL seduction. This product claims to have a strong tingling effect. It also comes in a variety of colors and it is recommended to be worn over your favorite lip stick color. It is not recommended for anyone with chapped lips, damaged lips, or sensitive lips.

There are many other products out there that claim to do the same thing, make your lips look plump! I would suggest trying different products and finding the one that works the best for you.

Home Remedies for Skin Care

Have you ever wondered if the cure for your dry skin or oily skin could be inside your home somewhere but you just do not know where to start? There are many at home remedies that people are just not a ware of!

For your skin all you need is a quarter cup of milk and green tea. Combine the two ingredients together and warm them up until the formula is warm. You apply this formula to your face with a wash cloth or cotton ball and then let it dry. After it is dry wash your face with warm water and soap. Milk can work wonders for your skin.

Have you ever heard of the home remedy using toothpaste for spot treatment on pimples? Here is how it works: if you get a pimple all you have to do is apply toothpaste on the spot (not gel) and let it sit on your pimple all night. The toothpaste will dry out the pimple and help the healing process.

Now I have not tried either one of these remedies but next time I run out of my regular skin care product instead of going to the store to pick up more solution, I am going to give this formula a try! Also next time I get a pimple I am going to use my toothpaste on it and see how it looks in the morning. You never know how home remedies will work for you until you experience it yourself!

The Best Mascara

I googled “the best mascara” and here is what I found: the number one brand that came up was Chanel Inimitable, the second was DiorShow Mascara, the third was Lancome Hypnose Mascara, and the forth runner up was Lancome Fatal Mascara. I read up on all the reviews of these products and this is what the reviews claim. With Chanel Inimitable coming in first it is supposed to offer a unique brush design, and sophisticated formula to create your best lashes ever. With a price tag around $27.50 I am yet to purchase it!

DiorShow Mascara came in number 2 and it is supposed to offer the same benefits, but some of the critics did not agree! One of the ladies that tried it said that she does not recommend it for people with short, thin lashes and that it quote “made her eyes look sad!” Now for a mascara to be good in my opinion it has to work on every shape of lash not just the lashes that are already long and thick! With another price tag around $27.50 I have not personally tried this product either, but with a review like that I would go with the Chanel Inimitable for the same price tag!

Lancome Hypnose Mascara came in as the third best mascara. Now this mascara said that it offers six times the volume of other mascaras! The critics agreed but a complaint to watch out for is the clumping. You can get this mascara for around $22.00, again not in my mascara budget!

The forth and final runner up was Lancome Fatal Mascara. Now the difference between this Lancome product and the last mascara mentioned is the 3D brush. The critics claim that this is really good mascara but you have to get used to the 3D brush before you realize it! This comes in at $21.00 which is still too steep for my taste!

I would have to say that my Ultimate Mascara by Mary Kay is by far the best mascara I have ever used and with a price tag of $15.00 it is more in my budget! I have smaller, thinner lashes and with my Ultimate Mascara I am able to build them up with out getting clumps! I call it “Mascara on steroids!” If you have not tried it, get in touch with a beauty consultant today at www.marykay.com

What do the Celebrities Use?

Do you ever watch a movie, or see a celebrity on TV and wonder, what type of cosmetics they use? I always wonder if they really do look as good as they appear on TV or if there is some major movie/TV correction going on behind the scenes. Well I am sure of one thing they all are wearing cosmetics of some type. But what brands are they using?

I did a little bit of research and this is what I found: Jessica Alba uses two choice mascaras to give her long, clump-free lashes the first is for lengthening and separating which is Blinc Kiss Me mascara and the second is Make Up For Ever Volumizing mascara in No.2 , Christina Milian mixes 2 Mac lipsticks to get her perfect shade, and Elle Macpherson uses Lancôme’s Juicy Tubes in Pamplemouse.

So all of the celebrities seem to have there own favorite way to glam it up! I would recommend next time you see a picture of a celebrity, and they have the make-up look you are after, photocopy the picture and blow it up so you can see clearly how they did there makeup. Then research that person individually to find the specific products they use to get the same look. You can easily copy their look by applying the same cosmetics as that celebrity used.

Determining Skin Type

How do you know what the right skin care is for you? There are so many different types of skin care where do you even begin? A good place to start is to know your skin type. There are many different skin types but you can break them down into two main categories: normal to dry and combination to oily.

Normal to dry skin is when your skin is pretty balanced and you rarely break out or when you have dryer skin that needs a lot of moisturizer. Combination to oily is when you have break outs primarily in the tee zone or your skin breaks out pretty regularly.

After you determine what type of skin you have you can more accurately decide what skin care is going to work best for you. If you normal to dry skin you need a more moisturizing product. If you have combination to oily skin you need a product that is going to help you control excess oil and shine.

Each case you want to be educated on your skin type. The next step is trying different products that are made specifically for you needs. One way to research different products is by looking up products online. Another way is to drive to the store and look in the section of the product you are looking for. At the store you can always read the backs of the labels and form there you can make your decision.

How to Hide Dark Circles

What is the best way to hide those dark circles that we all get under are eyes? I wanted to find out what were the best products for covering up the darkness.

One product that I use and recommend is a highlighting pen. I use a highlighting pen by Mary Kay and it works miracles! The job of the highlighting pen is to increase the reflection of light around your eyes. When ever light hits the eye it reflects the light preventing shadows that leave the eye looking dark.

Another product that is out on the market is concealer. Make up concealer is designed to just that conceal any unwanted flaws. What I use is a shade lighter then my usual foundation. That way it works like a highlighter and I can blend it in with my other foundation. It is always an option if you can not get your hand on a good highlighter.

To prevent getting dark circles I would suggest investing in a good eye cream. Eye creams help hydrate your eyes and they also cool down puffiness and help sooth eyes. I also use Mary Kay soothing eye gel. It is wonderful, you put it on in the morning when you wake up and by the time you get ready for work your eyes are ready for the day!

I hope this input helps you hide the dark circles next time they occur!
